EOTech XPS2 Review : Ultra Compact and Lightweight Non-NVD Holo Sight

In many ways, a holographic weapon sight is much better and more powerful than a red dot sight. Although the body is a thud bulkier, a holo sight introduces benefits and advantages that are unattainable by a red dot sight. A holo sight pairs an ultra-fine 1 MOA center dot with a 65 MOA aiming ring, allowing for maximum target acquisition speed and accuracy at the same time. The tubeless display window also allows for an unlimited field of view. The first holo sight was introduced by EOTech, so we can be certain that the brand has the best holographic weapon sights. Now, if you are looking for a compact and lightweight EOTech holo sight, you should take a look at EOTech XPS2.

EOTech XPS2 is not compatible with NVDs, so it is most suited for day use. With the brightness settings available, it can also perform at night if you don’t use a Night Vision Device (NVD). As a matter of fact, XPS2 is the most compact and most lightweight holographic weapon sight available from EOTech. Rest assured, it will let you be mobile, quick, and swift in your movements. The manufacturer has stopped using AA batteries; instead, EOTech XPS2 utilizes a transverse-mounted CR123 battery to operate. This allows for a more compact design and easier battery replacement. With a length of just 3.8”, it is short enough to leave some rail space, allowing you to equip your gun with other accessories such as a rear iron sight or a magnifying scope. However, you will need a riser to obtain a 1/3 co-witness.

EOTech models have always been known for their top-notch durability and reliability, and XPS2 is not different. Coming with a matte black finish, EOTech XPS2 boasts a heavy-duty metallic housing that is completely sealed. It is weatherproof and waterproof up to 10 feet (3 meters) underwater. So, combined with the small form factor, you can effortlessly take it anywhere.

- Holographic Weapon Sight - Imported - Compact, lightweight holographic weapon sight with 1x magnification - Uses laser light to illuminate holographic red reticle projected on target plane - Improves target acquisition, boosts accuracy, and increases control - Leaves rail space for rear iron sights, magnifiers, and other tools - Requires 123 lithium battery; measures 3.5 x 2.4 x 2 inches (W x H x D)

EOTech XPS2 is available with several different reticle designs. Besides the standard 1 MOA dot with 65 MOA ring, there is a variant with just a single 1 MOA dot. There is also a variant with two 1 MOA dots. Nothing beats the precision of a 1 MOA dot, and the ring reticle greatly enhances your target acquisition speed. In a close distance, you simply need to put the ring on your target, which is much quicker and more intuitive to do than with a plain dot.

EOTech XPS2 turns on instantly – another greatness of this exceptional holo sight. You are ready for action right after you press the power button. With 20 brightness levels available, you can easily conquer any situation, from a blinding sunny day to a heavily darkened room. The CR123 battery can last for up to 600 hours on the default nominal setting 12, which is decent. To save some power, there are two auto-off features that you can set according to your needs and preferences.
